Visual Element Line
Line is a path left from a moving point. It adds contours, feelings/expressions and movements. Edges can also be created with lines, when two surfaces meet. There are many directions your lines can go including horizontal, vertical and diagonal. Here are some examples of the visual element line.
Here are my examples.
I took these photos in my grandparents garden and also on a bridge facing the motorway and lastly in my car. For the photos of the motorway i used long exposure photography, I opened the lens for 30 seconds.
visual ELEMENT texture
Texture is the surface quality of on object, this can also be described as the feel on an object. A texture may be rough, smooth, bumpy, soft or many others. The photographs turn the 3D element of the tactile surface into a 2D visual image. Examples of artificial textures (bricks, fabric, plastic) and natural textures (fur, plants, wood) can be found. Here are some examples of texture photography.

I took these photos in my house and in my garden. I have taken a texture of different textures, from bumpy walls to smooth fur.
visual ELEMENT colour
The visual element colour is an element of art. There are three properties to colour, hue, intensity and value. Hue means the name given to colour, e.g. red yellow blue. Intensity is the strength and vividness. Lastly value means how light or dark it is. Here are some examples of the visual element colour.
Here are my examples.
These are the photos I have taken for my visual element colour homework. I collected the leaves from a local woodland and choose leaves of the same type, but of differing colours to show contrast. All of the images were photographed outside in evening light, I did this so as to get good lighting and shadow. I set the leaves and pens up on a slate tile to give an interesting textured background. I set the camera on high aperture and used a tripod to keep steady. I used a lower aperture for the pegs photograph so the background was blurred and the colour of the pegs stood out. I edited my photos on the computer using the canon photo application. I changed the brightness, shadows, sharpness and vibrance to get the best out of the colour. Finally I cropped the photos to get the best composition.
visual element rule of thirds/ composition
The rule of thirds is a grid/ line vertically and horizontally which help the placement of objects in a photograph that improves the image. They help space out the photo and create better placement. You do not want a object straight in the middle, its better to have it off centered on the 1st and 3rd lines. this helps the photo become more interesting and well balanced. However these rules can be broken and it doesn't always mean your images are bad.
Here are my examples.
I took these photos on my holidays. I looked at placing different things in the rule of thirds,.
