Edward weston
Critical Analysis
This photograph was taken by Edward Weston in 1927 and it's called Shell. This photo is a close up photograph. The mood of this photograph is moody and eerie, it's like this because its in black and white and the majority of the photo is grey and black with very little white. But the bit of white in the photograph really lifts the photo and does make it look brighter. There are no colours in this photograph, which I think is effective as it makes you realise and look at the detail of the photograph more, as it draws your eyes towards the swirls and tiny details. The composition of the photograph is also very effective and the spiral is right in the middle meaning your eyes are drawn to the swirls, making your eyes follow it. I like this photograph as I like how close up it is, as it makes you look at all the little details and every single texture in it.

Plan
This shoot is inspired by Edward Weston, so my aim is to take photo's in the style of Edward Weston. My aim is also to take photos inspired by him, and make sure to edit them on Photoshop afterwards. The shoot is going to take place in school in a classroom. I will use close up photography, using a high shutter speed. I will need props/objects to take photos of e.g wheel or skull, I will also need camera.

These photos are inspired by the photographer Edward Weston and his black and white photography. I have used mechanical and nature objects, a skull and a wheel.
Critical Analysis
WWW: I have conducted a shoot that was clearly inspired by Edward Weston's photography. I have successfully edited my photos on Photoshop to look like Edward Weston's.
EBI: I should of taken more photos as I only have three photographs. The are also a mix of man made and natural objects, so next time I will take the photographs focusing on either natural or man made objects.

Final outcome
I chose this photo as I feel it was the most successful in my shoot and reflects Edward Weston's work. I think the contrast and shadows are very effective in the photograph.
