Jennifer Blakeley is a photographer, who specialises in alphabet photography. She is from Canada. She takes photos of things that look like a letter and then assembles them in words and sometimes the full alphabet. She was inspired by a children's book called 'Alphabet city', that is what motivated her to travel across Canada too take the photos. She now has a thriving online business, where she creates personal photos for people. She works on the business with her husband Sam Blakeley.

SHOOT THREE
Our challenge was to create an alphabet collage, finding the letters from objects in everyday surroundings (not actual letters). I took the photos in lots of places, including urban and natural environments, as well as in the home. My inspiration for this project is Jennifer Blakeley.
Once I had collected the photos, I edited them using Digital Photo Professional; this mainly involved desaturating the images and adjusting the contrast and brightness. This helped to emphasise the shape of the letter in the image.
Finally I organised the letter photos into an alphabet collage using Microsoft Publisher and saved the image as a JPEG file. Here is the final result.

evaluation statement
Overall I feel that this project has been very successful. I am particularly pleased with the way the monochrome photos, with their use of light and shadow emphasise the shape of the letters. I am also very pleased that I edited my final shoot and found all the letters in the natural environment as I believe the overall effect of this works really well and reflects well my study of the work of Jennifer Blakeley.
